I did my two favorite things at once : made puns and painted colorful pinup art.  And who’s benefiting from this? You are.  Because prints are for sale.

This piece is my homage to one of my fave 1980s franchises. TMNT! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the hottest designs back then.  April O’neil was ‘kay, so I made her hotterer.  See if you can find all of the references. (^__^)

Prints are limited to only 10.

Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Phillip Graffham at Van Eaton galleries in So. Cal recently curated a show for the release of Mad Monster Party which recently came out on Blu-Ray and a book was released.

I’ve heard of the gallery before - they sell some really cool animation related art, so I was glad to dedicate some time to a piece.

I bought the Blu-Ray, watched it, and repainted my favorite scene.  I tried to star super close to the original with a few twists of my own.  I don’t want it to be a total rip of the movie, but the designs were so amazing that I had no choice but to follow it closely.
It’s also Halloween feeling so it works perfectly with the season.

The result is the following painting.
I painted under the pseudonym “Andrew Wilson”.  Oh wait… that’s my real name.  Well, the artwork is sold, so I can’t offer it to anyone, but if you’d like to see the other available pieces, follow the links! There are some really good pieces including sculpture, collage, and Drake Brodahl!  Good stuff.
Check out the other cool artwork here:
I’ve included some source from the Blu-Ray so you can see how it looks in the movie.  Good stuff.
be seeing you,
&Rew.

If you love the 80s nearly as much as I do, this art is for you.  I mashed up my favorite movies from the year 1988 in one giant orgy or art.  Akira, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Beetlejuice, and the Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

It took me about a month to paint this thing in the wee hours of the night.  And you don’t want to know how much time I spent watching the movies to reference the details.  Of course it’s cartooned, but all stayed as accurate as possible to the original content.

This is a companion piece to my last Crazy4Cult poster.  The print is giant at 18x24 and frames really nice.
